George W. Klump
Brockport: Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday January 30, 2019 at the age of 67. Predeceased by his parents John W. and Pauline Klump. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy, daughters Amy (Lucien) Brisson Jr., Melissa Mialki (Craig Privitera), and Kelsey Klump, grandchildren Lucien Brisson III, Shianna Brisson and Dominic Privitera, great granddaughter McKenzie Brisson, brother Jack (Donna) Klump of Fayetteville, niece Mackenzie (Jeremy) Kanyo, nephew Max Klump and best friend Glenn Listar.
George was born, raised and graduated from Brockport. After graduating from SUNY Oswego, he taught middle school in the Greece Central School District for 33 years. George joined the Brockport Fire Department in 1970 as a member of the Capen Hose Company . He was a lifetime member of the Brockport Fire District Exempts and Grey Ghost Exempts just like his father. Most recently, since 2007, he was a member of the Fire Police, serving 3 years as Lieutenant and earned the Fire Police Top Responder award for four years. George was a Brockport Girl Scout Green Angel for all his help with Kelsey's troop and driving the Brockport Girl Scout Service Unit float in Max's Mardi Gras parade every year. George is a lifetime member of the Brockport Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 2110 serving for 33 years. He was chaplain for 19 years, treasurer for 10 years. He also chaired and co-chaired Bingo for over 30 years and was a proud lifetime member of the Brockport United Methodist Church.
Family will receive friends on Friday February 8th from 4-7 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc. 340 West Ave., Brockport. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 9th at 11 AM at the Brockport United Methodist Church, 92 Main St. As an expression of sympathy, please consider a donation to the Brockport Fire Department Exempts, Brockport United Methodist Church, or the Elks National Foundation.
