Clarkson: Passed away September 25, 2010. Bill was born May 9, 1923 in Gowanda, NY, he was the son of the late George and Angeline Massar. He was a World War II veteran in the US Army, he worked for the US Postal Service and was the founder and previous owner of Clarkson Auto Electric. Bill married Helen Blodgett Highland on February 20, 1971. They were married for 39 years. He is survived by his wife, Helen, his daughter, Susan (Gary Heard) of Rochester and three sons, David of Boston, MA, Richard of Rochester and Gary (Mary) of Livonia, 3 stepchildren, Kenneth Highland of Boston, MA, Thomas Highland (Karen) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Julie Pruss (John) of Brockport, and, 14 grandchildren, Michael and Scott Massar; Robert, Tim, and Andrea Massar; Maija, Tia, and Tasha Heard; Jordan, Justine, Jacob, and Jessica Pruss; Kelsey and Lindsey Highland, 4 great-grandchildren, 5 siblings, Caroline Paddock, Alex , Joseph, George , Dominic and Rev. Richard Massar. He was also predeceased by 2 siblings, Carmella Stark and Tim Massar. Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, September 30th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Fowler Funeral Home, 340 West Ave., Brockport NY. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, October 1st at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 3747 Brick Schoolhouse Rd., Hamlin NY. The Rev. Richard Massar will officiate. Burial will follow in West Clarkson Cemetery, West Clarkson. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: University of Rochester Medical Center, Palliative Care Unit, PO Box 270441 Rochester, NY 14627-0441 or to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 3747 Brick Schoolhouse Rd., Hamlin NY.
