Obituary of Raymond F. Kelly

Kent: Age 97 passed away peacefully at the New York StateVeterans Home in Batavia on September 29 2018. Predecased by his wife Frederica of 68 years and sons Edward J.and Walter L. Survived by his children Michael R Kelly Sr. and Frederica (Lawrence) Feller; grandchildren Michael R Kelly Jr., Michelle Ann Kelly, Meredith (Braddock) Spear, John Feller, Steven Nauerth, Edward R Kelly, Anthony Kelly, Daniel Kelly, great-grandchildren: Ashley (Dustin) Lenz Emmi, Janeen Kelly and Brett T. Hoyt. Ray was a dedicated Marine. A World War II Veteran, he served with the 22ND Marines, Reinforced, Tactical Group One, Fifth Amphibious Corps in Engebi, Eniwetok Atoll, Parry Island and Guam in the South Pacific. Later he devoted his time between the Marine Corps League, American Legion, and Holley VFW Post 202 where he was a Past Commander. He was a Kendall Volunteer Firefighter for many years. When living with his family in Greece Ray was a salesman for a number of service companies. He spent his retirement years as a school bus driver for Kendall School District. He loved the Corps, friends, gardening, playing cards (lethal at Euchre) and caring for his cats. Family will receive friends on Thursday October 4th from 6-8 PM at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc. 340 West Ave., Brockport. A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Friday October 19th at 10 AM in Greenwood Cemetery, Kendall, NY.
