Condolences from the Pearson family. My brother Rob and I have great memories of Carl. Personally, he influenced my life and helped me fall in love with fly fishing and all that it brings.

Dear Aunt Evelyn,Leslie and Jay , l am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have fond memories of Christmas Eve celebrations and other celebrations through out the years. Uncle Carl was always teasing us kids and had a quick smile or laugh. Both my husband and I enjoyed his posts on face book. It was so good to see him at Scott's memorial earlier this year. Please know that we are here in Schaghticoke, thinking and praying for you at this time of sadness.

Carl was my father's brother. Through the years our lives went in different directions. My last memory of uncle Carl was at my brother's funeral this past summer. He and I reconnected for a while. We paid tribute to our brother's, sharing stories and enjoying a good cigar. My father (Carl's Brother) passed many year's ago. We had a laugh and smile at what our brothers meant to us.
Rest Uncle & catch the big one.

I first met Carl in 1968 when he and Spot Inkley were building custom bamboo fly rods in their spare time. He was a great fly fisherman and one of the most knowledgeable freshwater anglers of our generation. Most important, he was very generous and kind to anyone who needed advice. I will miss him greatly.

I always enjoyed talking with Carl when he would come to the Salmon River Hatchery to discuss with me the state of the fishery. He truly enjoyed flyfishing to its fullest.

Carl was a mentor and model for me way back in the 70's . Although I have not fly fished at all since then , and I often thought I'd talk to or see him again, that never happened . I have fond memories of his friendship, mentoring and expert tips on tying flies. It was because of him that I was successful in my endeavors on Oatka creek and Spring Brook.
It is with my saddest condolence that I missed seeing him in such a long time .
tight lines Carl and rest by the streams in heaven...

I was just a teenage boy when I first visited Carl's shop at that time in his house in Greece. As I grew and started my career at Kodak I followed Carl to his new shop on Ridge Road in Spencerport. I bought some of my first fly fishing equipment from Carl with his guidance. I took fly trying classes at his shop over several years and his burnt wing sulphur became the building block for Hendrickson, BWO's and March Brown patterns I developed that have landed me many fish over the years. In a way Carl had a hand in everyone of them. Thank you Carl.

I truly enjoyed our hunts together, especially our trips to Nebraska. Thank you for your generosity, and making many hours afield memories for a lifetime.
