Batavia/Holley: Died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on September 7, 2021 at the age of 49 in Hospice Care. She is survived by her loving mother Karen Shaffer, her brother Shawn (Samantha) Block, her sister Teri (Roger) Caldwell. Gidget “loved nothing more than being an aunt” to her precious nieces and nephews Haylie, Isiah, Gabi, Ellie, Brianna, Emily, Drew, and great niece Brooklyn. She also leaves behind her best friends Brian and Phil, her beloved dog Petey, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Gidget loved to craft and was an accomplished sewer, making dolls for her nieces and quilts for all of her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed camping and fishing.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 3:30 to 7:00 at Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., 340 West Ave., Brockport.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to the family or to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626, in Gidget’s memory.
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready, in Heaven above, And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, For God looked down, smiled at me, And told me, “Welcome Home”. So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, For every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.
