Sandra M. Perkins Perkins, Sandra M. (Banham, Miller) Brockport, NY Formerly of Penfield and Hilton, NY And Augusta, GA, age 73 April 1, 2020 at peace in the arms of God after a long struggle with kidney cancer / disease. Predeceased by her parents Fredrick and Margaret Banham, former husband and friend Russell Miller and birth mother Esther Marconi. She will be saving a place at the Lord’s table for her loving husband, Brad; devoted daughter and son-in-law Mindy (Robert) Wright of Brockport, NY; cherished grandchildren David and AbbeyWright of Brockport, NY; her in-laws William and Virginia Perkins of Cape Coral, Florida; sisters-in-law Lisa Byrne-Emmerson (Jeff) of Adams Basin; nieces MadisonByrne and Jessica Emmerson; her new found family the Marconi’s and other family and friends. Special friends Mary Boles (Gene) of Augusta, GA; and especially her God-given, life-long friend Marcia Whitney (Clark) of Chelsea, Michigan. She is a 1964 graduate of Penfield High School and a 1966 graduate of SUNY Morrisville. She served for 17 years with the Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley, starting as a Brownie Scout and as a Girl Scout, earning the Curved Bar award, the highest at that time, and went on to be a Junior Scout Leader and consultant. She also spent 6 years as a Pioneer Girl Guide. For over 25 years she was involved Christian Women’s Connection/Stonecroft Ministries serving in many capacities, first in the Rochester Far West Club and the last being Chairman of the Augusta, GA club. She attended Brockport Free Methodist Church where she was a member of the Golden Girls Bible Study. In her spare time she loved to read, do jigsaw puzzles, crafts and gardening. She had traveled to many places including Alaska and Ecuador, but her heart belonged to her favorite place, Long Lake in the Adirondacks. A private burial was held in Lakeview Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday July 25, 2020 at the Brockport Free Methodist Church, 6787 Fourth Section Road, Brockport, NY 14420. Those wishing may make a donation in her name to the James P. Wilmot Cancer Institute, 90 Crittenden Blvd., Rochester, NY 14620.
